ICE CREAM SUNDAE PIE

Ingredients

  • PIE:
  • 18 oatmeal cookies crumbled
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine melted
  • 3 pints vanilla ice cream, softened
  • Chocolate covered English toffee candy bar, 1 oz. finely chopped
  • TOFFEE SAUCE:
  • 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 chocolate covered English toffee candy bars (1-1/8 oz.), chopped
  • Dash salt
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Pie:

Combine cookie crumbs and butter, mix well Reserve 2 tablespoons crumb mixture. Press remaining crumb mixture into bottom and sides of 9" pie plate. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven about 8 minutes. Cool.

Place 1 pint ice cream into bowl. Beat with wooden spoon or on low speed of electric mixer to soften. Spread onto crust. Sprinkle half of candy over ice cream. Repeat with second pint of ice cream, sprinkle with remaining candy over ice cream. Repeat with third pine of ice cream, sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Freeze until ice cream is firm.

Sauce:

Heat milk, candy and salt over low heat in heavy 2 quart saucepan, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat, stir in hot water and vanilla. Chill. Spoon over pie wedges to serve.
