Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 c. shortening (256 g.)
  • 1 1/3 c. butter (298 g.)
  • 2 c. sugar (410 g.)
  • 2 c. brown sugar (500 g.)
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 tsp. vanilla
  • 6 c. flour (810 g.)
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. chopped nuts (Must) (240 g.)
  • 2 -12 oz. pkgs. Chocolate chips (semisweet or milk chocolate)

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 375°. Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, sugars, eggs, & vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. (Add more flour for softer cookie.)
Drop with cookie scoop 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 min. until golden brown. (This is a double recipe) For 1 recipe: ⅔ c. shortening (128 g.); ⅔ c. butter (149 g.); 1 c. sugar (205 g.) 1 c. brown sugar (250 g.); 2 eggs; 2 t. vanilla; 3 c. flour (405 g.); 1 t. soda; 1 t. salt; 1 c. nuts (120 g.); 12 oz. chocolate chips
