Ingredients
- 1 large head Romaine lettuce
- 2 Cans drained mandarin oranges
- DRESSING
- 1/2 C oil
- 4 T sugar
- 4 T rice vinegar
- 2 T parsley
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 dashes pepper
- 2 dashes tobasco sauce
- ALMONDS
- 1 C slivered almonds
- 6 T sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Prepare dressing several hours in advance
shake and mix and store in refrigerator
Combine almonds and sugar in non stick skillet. Cook over medium heat. Stir constantly until medium brown (caramel color)
Don't allow to smoke or burn. Pour onto aluminum foil and cool
Break and crush into smaller pieces and add to salad once ready to serve.
