Jewish Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3-4 apples, peeled, cored and sliced or chopped
  • CINNAMON SUGAR MIXTURE
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 5 tsp white sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease and flour a bundt pan.

Combine ground cinnamon and 5 tsp white sugar together and set aside.

In a large mixing bowl combine all other ingredients and beat until smooth. Make sure there are no lumps in the batter.

Pour 1/2 batter in pan, then 1/2 the apples. Sprinkle with 1/2 the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Pour remaining batter over the apples and sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture.

Bake for 65-70 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out dry.
