Ingredients
- 2 lbs cod or other firm fish fillets
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp water
- 1 cup cornmeal
- Butter for frying

Step 1
Sprinkle both sides of fillets with salt and pepper. Beat the egg and water in a pie plate until blended, then dip the fish in the egg mixture. Coat with the cornmeal, then fry in the butter until brown on both sides.
