Ingredients
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup paprika
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 tablespoons pepper
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Mix all together
Preparation
Step 1
Rub dry mixture all over ribs
Spray tin foil with cooking spray
Wrap ribs in foil
Refrigerate at least 2 hours
Oven Directions: Here is the rib recipe. The rub makes lots so you can half it and still have plenty. I would set the oven at 225 or 250 and put the foil wrapped ribs on a cookie sheet in a single layer. I found that 4 hours was too much so check them after 2 hours and add the vinegar now and cook for the additional hour. Apple cider or white vinegar if fine and 1/3 cups is lots so use sparingly. At the end of the time I just left them in the foil and kept them whole when I basted them. You only have to cook them for a few minutes more with the sauce. You can turn them off and keep them on the grill while you get dinner on the table.
Grill Directions:Set heat on gas grille so temperature reads 325-350
Put foil wrapped ribs on grille, preferably not over direct heat
Cook for approximately 4 hours
After the third hour open up the foil and pour about 1/3 cup vinegar over the ribs
After 4 hours take the ribs off the grille and cut into sections
Put back on the grille and baste with BBQ sauce of your choice
