Hot Crab Dip

Ingredients

  • 8 T butter
  • 8 T flour
  • 3 c milk
  • 1/4 c butter
  • 1 small chopped onion
  • 1/2 chopped bell pepper
  • 2 or 3 ribs celery, chopped
  • 1 large can sliced mushrooms
  • 1 lb crab meat
  • Pimentos (optional)
  • Tabasco, to taste
  • Salt & Pepper, to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in saucepan; blend in flour. Add milk slowly, stirring until the sauce is smooth and thick. if sauce is too think, add more milk.

In 1/4 c butter, saute onion, bell pepper and celery until the vegetables are very soft. Add to the cream sauce.

When ready to serve, add the mushrooms and crab meat (and chopped pimentos, if desired). Season to taste with Tabasco, salt & pepper.

Can be served in hollowed out bread.
