Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 - 8 ounce package dates, diced
- 2 t baking soda
- 1 t water
- 3 cups flour
- 1 t cinnamon
- 1 t nutmeg
- 1/4 t cloves
- 1/4 t salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing with each
Combine soda and water and add to dates and then to creamed mixture.
Combine and add flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt.
Stir in pecans.
Chill dough. On floured surface, shape in rolls 10" x 3/4", put on greased cookie sheet. Flatten with fingers, sprinkle with sugar and bake for 15 - 18 minutes. Cut while still hot, diagonally.
