- 6 About 6 ounces (about 1 1/3 cups salted macadamia nuts
- 1 cup butter
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups AP flour
- 1 tsp baking soda

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
1. Chop 1 cup of the nuts; set aside
2. With an electric mixer, beat butter and 1 cup sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and beat until well combined.
3.In another bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and chopped nuts. Add to butter mix, stir together, then beat to blend thoroughly.
4. Shape dough into 2 tsp sized balls. Place balls 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. With a flat bottom glass dipped in remaining sugar, press ball 1/4 inch thick. Press a whole nut or chunk of nut into center of each cookie.
5. Bake for 12 min or until cookies are golden brown. Cool completely.
