Italian Garlic Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 refrigerated pizza crust, cut into 20 1" pieces
  • 6 mozzarella cheese cheese sticks, cut into 20 1/2" pieces*
  • 1 stick butter
  • 8 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon basil**
  • Parmesan cheese, grated

Step 1

*You can use 1 tablespoon of shredded cheese in each roll.

**Original recipe called for 3 teaspoon of oregano, but I thought that was too much. I prefer basil to oregano.

In small pan, over medium heat, melt the butter with the garlic and oregano. Place pizza dough on a sheet of waxed paper or a cutting board; cut into strips; then cut 3” wide pieces. Place a piece of cheese in the center and fold the dough around the cheese. Press edges together until completely sealed.

Place rolls, seam side down, on a cookie sheet. Brush rolls with half the garlic butter mixture. Reserve the rest.

Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 20 minutes or until puffed and golden born. Brush remaining butter mixture over the top of the rolls immediately after removing from oven. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
