Smothered Hamburgers


Easy and delicious- no kidding, these are company good and freeze well, too!

  • 2 lbs lean hamburger ( I use 93%)
  • 1 cup flour
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • oil enough to brown burgers
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 pkg brown gravy mix
  • 1 cup water


Preparation time 20mins
Cooking time 95mins


Step 1

Form hamburger into 8 patties. Dredge patties in flour and season with salt and pepper to taste. Brown burgers in hot oil on both sides. Place in Dutch oven or large casserole dish. In a separate bowl combine soup, brown gravy mix, and water. Pour over burgers. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour and 15 minutes. Makes its own gravy. Serve with sour cream mashed potatoes and green beans in cheesy bacon sauce.
