French Buttercream Cookies

These are easy to make and work well in a cookie press.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 cup soft butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/4 cups flour

Preparation

Step 1

In large bowl,combine all ingredients EXCEPT flour on low speed of mixer about 1 minute, blend well.

Put on dough hooks and gradually add the flour, blend at low speed unti l well mixed. Add a few drops of food color.

Chill dough 15-30 minutes before shaping. Shape into 3/4 inch balls, place on greased cookie sheet. Flatten with fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 5-8 minutes until set but not brown. Store LOOSELY covered.

3-4 dozen WORKS VERY WELL IN COOKIE PRESS, NO REFRIGERATION NEEDED
