Basic Vinaigrette Dressing

Ingredients

  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Place all ingredients in a medium bowl. Using a whisk, mi until well blended.

Serve immediately, or cover and chill until ready to use.

OPTIONS:
Italian: Use balsamic vinegar and season with oregano
French: red wine vinegar and season with tarragon
Citrusy: Use lemon or lime juice instead of vinegar
TIP: If olive oil in the dressing turns cloudy after chilling, let it stand at room temperature for a a few minutes then whisk again before serving.
