Ingredients

  • 1 lb hamburger
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs or crushed corn flakes
  • 1/3 c/ Minced onion
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 tbsp. fresh parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (12 oz.) bottle chili sauce
  • 1 (10 oz.) jar grape jelly
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice

Preparation

Step 1

Combine the first 8 ingredients, mixing well. Shape into 1" meatballs. Cook meat balls until browned. Cool meatballs by draining on paper towels.

Sauce:

Combine chili sauce, grape jelly and lemon juice in a medium saucepan (or same electric skillet); stir well until jelly is melted. Add meatballs and simmer uncovered on low for 30 mins (to thicken the sauce), stirring occasionally. Serve hot meatballs with toothpicks out of the skillet or in a crockpot or chafing dish set on low.

Makes about 4-5 dozen meatballs, depending on size.
