Deep dish brownie pie
I love brownies, and I had a pie crust in the freezer too long, so why not put the 2 together?!
- 8
- 5 mins
- 55 mins
Ingredients
- 1 box brownie mix for 13" x 9" pan
- Eggs, water & oil called for in directions on brownie box
- 9 " deep dish pie shell, unbaked
- Nuts, if desired (I used chopped pecans in this one)
Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to temperature in brownie directions. Mix brownies according to package directions. Add nuts if using.
2. Fill pie crust with brownie batter, smoothing out top. Cover edges of pie crust for majority of baking time, or if you prefer, when edges start to turn brown.
3. Bake for 45-55 minutes (this was my time frame in a 350 oven) until toothpick in center comes out relatively clean (not completely clean, or your brownies will be more like dry chocolate cake). Cool at least an hour, if you can wait that long, so you can get a clean slice of brownie.
Depending on the size of the slices, you can probably get 8-16 slices out of this.
