  • 3 cups torn bread
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • dash of salt
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Step 1

Place bread in quart-sized buttered casserole dish. Mix milk, butter and sugar in pan and heat just enough to dissolve all the sugar and melt the butter, while stirring. Beat the eggs slightly, add salt and stir in warm milk, vanilla and cinnamon; pour over the bread. Sprinkle top with cinnamon. Set dish in pan of hot water and bake at 350 degrees F for about and hour.
