MY MOM'S COCOA BROWNIES

By

This is the old recipe from the back of the metal Hershey's Cocoa tin. It's simple to make with basic pantry ingredients. This is a thick, moist brownie that's not too cakey.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted or vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup unsifted flour
  • 1/2 cup Hershey’s cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powde

Preparation

Step 1

Blend melted butter or margarine, sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Add eggs, beat well with spoon. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder. Gradually add to egg mixture until well blended. Spread in greased 8 inch square pan. Bake at 350 for 40 to 45 minutes, or until brownie begins to pull away from edges of pan. Cool; cut into squares.
