Ingredients
- 1 large onion - 1/2 sliced and 1/2 chopped, set aside
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp oil
- 1 1/2 lb ground chuck
- 1 can (8oz) tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup beef or chicken broth
- 1 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

Preparation
Step 1
Cook white or brown rice while preparing meat mixture
Brown meat and drain, set aside
cook onion slices and garlic til tender in oil; then add meat, broth, tomato sauce and spices. Heat to boil, then simmer 10 min.
Next - ( for table use; add to meat sauce as each individual desires; these side dishes of
1-2 large tomatoes, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1/2 c - 3/4 cup. seedless raisins, that have been plumped in hot water ( really great)
1/2 cup Olives, sliced (black or green)
put meat mixture atop cooked rice - then add condiments.
