Ingredients

  • 2

    cups raisins

  • 1

    cup water

  • 1

    cup orange juice

  • ½

    cup packed light brown sugar

  • ½

    cup white sugar

  • 3

    tablespoons cornstarch

  • teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • ½

    teaspoon ground all spice

  • ½

    cup chopped walnuts

  • 1

    pinch salt

  • 1

    tablespoon cider vinegar

  • 3

    tablespoons unsalted butter

  • pie crust, store bought or premade with top and bottom

Directions

1 Preheat oven to 400F. 2 Place the raisins water and juice in a saucepan and heat over medium heat for 5 minutes. 3 Combine the sugars, cornstarch, spices, and salt in a bowl, mixing all the time. Add this mixture to the heating raisins. 4 Cook and stir this until the mixture starts to bubble. Add the vinegar, walnuts and butter, and heat until the butter is melted. Cool until just warm. 5 Pour into the prepared shell and top with the second pastry crust. Bake 25 minutes or until golden. Cool.
