These kind of smoothies are really good…I make them almost like this.I use low-fat,light vanilla yogurt…Greek style works well too…plus it has MORE protein!

I sometimes wonder when the last time some posters have talked to a diabetic nutritionist? Diabetics can't have bananas? Yes we can! I have a small banana every morning with my breakfast. A small banana is about 20 or so grams of carbs and is a good source of energy.. can't have orange juice? You can if you ONLY have 8oz and nothing else, but Tropicana50 has way less sugar and carbs than regular orange juice (about half) and tastes just as yummy. It's all about moderation, yes I can't chug a huge glass of OJ with my oversized banana and bowl of Frosted Flakes, but I can have a small glass of juice with a low/no carb breakfast or a small banana with my omelette. I've talked to two different nutritionists, one being at the Joslin Center of Diabetes in Boston, and all have confirmed that we can have most food just in small portions (and adjust meds if you take insulin like I do) or if you're going to indulge in a small side or dessert, make sure the rest is carb free. Like another poster mentioned this smoothie is supposed to be a meal replacement, how many carbs can you have a meal? I know I can have 60g although they say someone my height should have 75g. Cut the recipe in half and it's only 42g, which leaves 18g to spare. A few changes and I bet the carbs/sugar cuts in half!
you know you don't need the Splenda cause its really not good for you. just add more berry's it will make it sweet enough
I do something similar, just don't add extra sugar and no OJ! :)
