Holiday Poke Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 box cake mix
  • 2 C boiling water
  • 1 pkg (4 serving size) jello, any red flavor
  • 1 pkg (4 serving size) lime flavor jello
  • 1 can vanilla frosting (or cream cheese frosting)

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 350.
2. Prepare, bake and cool cake mix as directed on pkg for 2 round layers. Place cake layers, top sides up in clean cake pans. Pierce cake with large fork at 1/2 in intervals.
3. Stir 1 C of boiling water into each lavor of jello in separate bowls 2 min or til dissolved. Carefully pour red jello over 1 cake layer and green over 2nd layer. Refrigerate 3 hrs.
3. Dip 1 cake pan in warm water for 10 sec, unmold onto serving plate. Spread with 1/4 of frosting. Unmold 2nd layer, carefully place on 1st layer. Frost top and sides of cake with remaining frosting.
4. Refrigerate 1 hour or until ready to serve. Decorate as desired.
