- 1/2 cup grated parmesan
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
Preparation
Step 1
Sauce:
Simmer onion and garlic in olive oil until translucent. Add tomato paste and stir for 5 minutes. Add tomato sauce and stir for another 5 minutes. Add 2 tomato paste cans of water and all of the spices, cover and simmer several hours.
This is a very basic recipe, add anything else you might like – meatballs, sausage, wine, mushrooms, etc. to suit your taste! You can also substitute whole tomatoes crushed in your hand for tomato sauce.
Meatballs:
Combine all ingredients in order given with large fork. Let set for at least 20 minutes. Line cookie sheet with foil and spray with oil. Form meatballs and bake at 400 for about 20 minutes until browned. Add to sauce or cool and freeze in Ziploc bags.
