Ingredients
- 1 tsp. butter
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 3 medium onions
- 14 oz. can tomatoes
- salt, pepper and sweet
- basil to taste
- 1/2 bay leaf
- 6 cups beef stock
- 3 medium carrots, sliced
- 3 medium potatoes, sliced
- 3 celery stalks, sliced
- 1/4 cup small sea-shell pasta
- Worcestershire and tabasco to taste.

Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter, add beef amd cook slightly. Add onions tomatoes, salt, pepper, basil, bay leaf and beef stock. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 1 hour. Add remaining vegetables and cook 1 hour longer. Stir in shells during the last 12 - 15 minutes of cooking. Correct seasonings,. Remove bay
leaf. Test shells to see if tender. Serve hot. You can add 6-7 cups cabbage for variety.cooking time approximately 2 1/2 hours. Serves 12
