Taco Salad


This is our favorite way to use leftovers from Bean Burritos

Taco Salad 1 Picture


  • Home Made Salsa:
  • Romaine Hearts, Sliced
  • 1/2 11-oz bag of Nacho Flavored Doritos, Crushed
  • Shredded Mexican Cheese Mix
  • Can of Hormel Chili with Beans
  • 3-4 Scallions, Sliced
  • 1 Small Can Black Olives, Sliced
  • 1 Small Can Chopped Mild Green Chiles
  • 1 Cup Tomatoes, Chopped
  • 3/4 Cup Onions, Chopped
  • 3/4 Cup Green Peppers, Chopped
  • 2-3 Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 3 T Vinegar
  • 2 T Olive Oil
  • Salt & Pepper to taste



Step 1

Combine the ingredients for the salsa

Make four cuts in the Romaine from the stem toward the top of the leaves. Slice the Romaine into bits and put into your salad bowl.
Layer crushed Doritos on top of lettuce
Drop spoonfuls of salsa all over the top of the Doritos
Drop spoonfuls of Chili all over the Doritos, in between the salsa drops
Sprinkle olives and green chiles over the salsa & Chile layer
Top with shredded Mexican cheese mix & serve
Toss all together just before serving
