Sauce - Toasted Pecan-Caramel

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c chopped pecans
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 1 t light corn syrup
  • 1/2 c evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 t butter

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 deg. Bake pecans in single layer 8-10 mins. Sprinkle sugar in an even layer in small saucepan. Stir together syrup & 1/3 c water and pour over sugar. Cook, without stirring, 12-14 mins until sugar is dissolved and mix is golden. Remove from heat. Gradually whish in evaporated milk. (mix will bubble) Stir in butter and toasted pecans.
