  • 1 white or yellow cake mix
  • 1 pkg. (3.4 oz) pistachio instant pudding mix
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 cup chocolate syrup

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 12-cup Bundt pan. Mix together the cake mix, pudding mix, sugar, water, oil, eggs and extract in a large mixing bowl. Blend with an electric mixer on low speed for 1 minute, then 2 minutes on medium speed. Remove 1/3 cup of the batter to a small bowl. Add chocolate syrup to the small bowl and stir until well combined. Set aside.

Pour remaining batter into the prepared pan. Pour the chocolate batter over the top, trying to keep the chocolate batter away from the edges of the pan. Swirl the chocolate batter into the light batter with a knife.

Bake until the cake is golden brown and springs back when lightly touched, 55 to 60 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on wire rack for 20 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely.
