  • Dumplings:
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup up chicken
  • 1 tsp salt



Step 1

Cut chicken into pieces and cover with hot water. Add 1 tsp salt. Cover and simmer until tender, about 2 hours. Take chicken out of broth and strip meat from bones. Put meat back in broth. To make dumplings: sift dry ingredients together. Combine well beaten egg and milk. Stir into dry ingredients and beat well. Roll out onto floured surface and cut into strips. Drop into boiling chicken. Cover. Steam without disturbing for approx. 12 minutes.
