Ingredients
- 4 T butter, divided
- 1 lb sirloin steak
- 1 jar mushrooms, sliced and drained
- 1/2 c chopped onions
- 3 T flour
- 1 can beef broth
- Small amount of ketchup, for coloring
- 1-8 oz carton sour cream
- Cooked egg noodles
Preparation
Step 1
Heat 2 tablespoons butter in skillet. Brown quickly both sides of thinly cut strips of sirloin. Add sliced mushrooms and chopped onions. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from pan. Add 2 tablespoons butter to pan drippings. Blend in flour and beef broth. Cook over medium-high heat until thick and bubbling. (I add a shot of ketchup here for color.) Return meat mixture to pan and add sour cream. Cook slowly until hot. Do not boil. Serve over cooked egg noodles. Serves 4.
