Flaming Bananas

Ingredients

  • 4 bananas ( can be over-ripe )
  • 1 oz chopped butter
  • 2 oz brown sugar
  • 2 lemons
  • 2 oz rum

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel the bananas and slice each banana lengthwise. Place bananas in a shallow oven-proof dish. Dot the bananas with the chopped butter, and sprinkle with the brown sugar. Juice the lemons and pour juice over the bananas. Bake for 20 minutes, basting occasionally. Heat the rum to steaming-hot but not boiling, and pour the rum over the bananas. Ignite the rum immediately.
