  • 12 slices low calorie whole wheat bread
  • 2 cups low fat milk
  • 1 1/2 cup egg substitute
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp softened light stick butter
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Step 1

Spray 8 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Place bread in 4 equal stacks in baking dish (it will be tight). Whisk milk, egg, vanilla, cinnamon and salt in medium bowl. Slowly pour egg mixture over bread, pressing down bread to cover and spooning egg mixture over any uncoated bread. Cover and chill up to 1 day.

Preheat oven to 350. Mix brown sugar, and butter in small bowl with fork until smooth. Spread evenly over bread. Bake until hot and knife inserted 1 inch from center comes out clean. Approximately 1 hour. Cool on rack. Cut into 6 pieces.
