Strawberry Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • Topping:
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1/2 C shortening
  • 2 3/4 C sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 C flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tsp vanilla
  • red food coloring
  • 1-10 oz pkg frozen strawberries, thawed
  • 1 10 oz pkg frozen strawberries, thawed
  • red food coloring
  • 1 1/2 C powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp almond flavor
  • 1/2 C water

Preparation

Step 1

Cream shortening, butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating each well. Add small amounts of strawberries and flour until mixed. Add flavorings and food color. Pour into greased bundt pan.

Put in a cold oven. Turn oven on 350 degrees and bake for 1 ½ hours.

Topping:
Combine and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes. Pour over cake
