Ingredients
- Spiced Butter:
- 4 C all-purpose flour
- 3 TBS. sugar
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tarter
- 3/4 C cold butter
- 1 egg separated
- 1 1/2 C refrigerated hazelnut nondairy creamer or half and half cream

- 1/2 C butter, softened
- 3 TBS brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
- Land of Lakes has cinnamon sugar butter that is really good. Can use this instead of spiced butter.
Preparation
Step 1
1. Combine the first five ingredients; cut in butter until crumbly. Whisk the egg yolk and creamer; add to dry ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips.
2. Turn onto floured surface; knead 10 times. Divide dough in half. Pat each portion into a 7 inch circle; cut into eight wedges. Seperate wedges and place on greased baking sheets.
3. Beat egg white; brush over dough. sprinkle with additional sugar. Bake at 425 for about 13 min. or until golden brown. Spread with spiced butter.
