Ingredients

  • 3 pounds fresh white mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly-ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant onion
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground veal
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 pound butter

Preparation

Step 1

Wash and drain mushrooms. Melt butter on two cookie sheets, 1/4 pound on each. Mix remaining ingredients and stuff mushroom caps with this mixture. Place mushrooms on buttered cookie sheets. Insert toothpick (if desired) into each stuffed cap and bake at 350 degrees about 45 minutes depending on size of mushrooms. Remove and drain on paper towel. Serve hot.
