Ingredients
- 1 German chocolate or devil's food cake mix
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 jar caramel butterscotch sauce (Mrs. Richardson’s was recommended)
- 1 chopstick (or other utensil that will make holes when used for poking)
- Cool Whip* (*alternative: Glossy Chocolate Frosting)
- Chocolate chips or crumbled Heath bars, or M&Ms, or topping of your choice
- that can be sprinkled.
Preparation
Step 1
-Bake and cool the cake mix. Poke sort of large holes in it with the
chopstick. Pour 1 can of sweetened condensed milk and half the jar of caramel
butterscotch sauce over it.
-Frost with Cool Whip (or glossy chocolate frosting). Sprinkle chocolate chips
or m&ms or crumbled Heath bars or what have you over the top. Enjoy!
*Glossy Chocolate Frosting Recipe (aka the Universal Chocolate Frosting
Recipe, because you can even put it on Spice Cake, and it will taste good)
3 tbsp vegetable shortening
3 oz unsweetened chocolate
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup milk
2 cups powdered sugar
Melt vegetable shortening and unsweetened chocolate together in double boiler(or single pan--but watch to make sure you don't burn the mix). When this is melted, take off stove. Stir in vanilla extract. Stir in milk. Mix in 2 cups of powdered sugar, one at a time. Make sure frosting consistency is smooth. Spread over baked good. Enjoy!
