Ingredients
- 1/3 c butter or marg
- 5 c thinly sliced onions - 2 lbs
- 4 cans undiluted condensed beef boullion
- 1 soup can of water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- 6 - 8 slices french bread
- 1/4 c grated parm cheese
- extra grated parm cheese or sliced mozzarella to top soup or provolone
Preparation
Step 1
1. heat butter in skillet, add onions and suate over low heat 30 minutes stirring often. in med sized saucean combine onions boullion salt and pepper. bring to boil reduce heat and simmer one hour.
2. toast bread. arrnage toast in individual bowls. pour in hot soup. toast will float. spoon grated cheese in a heap on each slice. tip each bowl with slice of provolone or mozzeralla. broil until melted.
