  • 1 cup long grain rice
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Step 1

For 3-4 cups of cooked rice, combine 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice, 2 cups cold water, and ½ to 1 tsp. salt in a 2-qt. Saucepan; cover with tight-fitting lid. Bring to a vigorous boil, then turn heat low. Continue cooking 14 minutes (do not lift cover). Remove from heat; let stand, covered, 10 minutes.
