Pickled Cole Slaw

Ingredients

  • 1 large cabbage, finely chopped
  • 2 large onions,thinly sliced
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 2 tsps. prepared mustard
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1 Tbsp celery seed
  • 3/4 c salad oil

Preparation

Step 1

Toss cabbage,onion, 3/4 cup sugar and salt
Let stand while making the dressing
Mix vinegar,mustard, 1/4 c sugar and celery seed in a saucepan
Bring to a boil
Add oil
While bubbling, pour over cabbage mixture
Stir
Chill overnight
This will keep several weeks in the frig
