Nut Roll

Ingredients

  • DOUGH:
  • 6-7 cups Flour (Gold Medal)
  • 1 Pound Butter
  • 1/2 Pint Sour Cream
  • 1/2 Large cake of yeast (about 1 ounce)
  • 1/2 Cup warm milk
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • Filling:
  • 2 Pounds ground nuts
  • 1 1/2 Cup sugar
  • 1/4 to 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Mix flour, butter and sour cream as you would pie doe.
Place yeast in 1/2 Cup warm milk.
To milk and yeast add 1/2 Teaspoon Sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Mix all of the above and form into several balls. Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours.
Roll out in sugar and spread with nut filling (see below).
Roll into jelly rolls.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 25-30 minmutes or until brown.

Filling:
Compine Sugar and butter into one cup hot milk. Add to nuts with vanilla.
