Brussel Sprouts Gratin


4-6 servings. Serve as side dish with roasted turkey or ham.

  • Butter for greasing
  • 16 oz fresh or frozen brussel sprouts, thawed
  • 8 oz bag frozen pearl onions, thawed or 1 c fresh onions, diced
  • 1/2 c milk
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 1 1/3 c shredded Swiss or Gruyere cheese



Step 1

Preheat oven to 375. Grease 8x8 baking dish & set aside.

Place thawed brussel sprouts & onions, milk, salt, pepper & all but 1/2 c of cheese in prepared baking dish, tossing to combine. (If using fresh veggies, steam or cook brussel sprouts & sauté onions before putting into dish.). Cover loosely with foil & bake for 25 min.

Remove foil, sprinkle with remaining cheese over top & continue baking until cheese is bubbly &'begins to brown, about 20 min. more. Remove from heat & let cool for 2-3 min before serving.
