Strawberry Ice Box Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 small boxes strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 small boxes frozen chopped strawberries
  • 1 small can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 large angel food cake, torn in small pieces
  • 1 pint heavy cream, whipped

Preparation

Step 1

Add sugar to gelatin; dissolve in 2 cups boiling water. Add fruit; chill until mixture begins to jell. In tube or spring-form pan, alternate layers of cake and gelatin.
Refrigerate overnight.
Unmold, slice and serve with lots of whipped cream.
Garnish with fres berries, if available.
