Breads: Apple Muffins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 t salt
  • 4 t baking powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 t cinnamon
  • 1/4 t nutmeg
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup melted shortening
  • 3/4 cup chopped apples

Preparation

Step 1

Sift dry ingredients.
Mix the egg, milk and shortening.
Add dry ingredients to liquid until they are just moist.
Add apples.
Fill greased pans 2/3 full.

Bake in hot oven 425-450 degrees for 25 minutes.
