Mashed Spiced Sweet Potatoes

  • 3 pounds sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil



Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 400ºF.
2. Place potatoes directly on middle oven rack (no tray is needed and you don’t need to poke holes in the potatoes).
3. Cook the potatoes until they are soft in the center, 45 minutes or more, depending on size.
4. Remove potatoes from oven and split them lengthwise.
5. Once potatoes have cooled slightly, but are still warm, use a spoon to scoop out the potato flesh and place in a large bowl. Discard skins.
6. Add remaining ingredients and mash with a fork. Serve warm.
