Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 sticks of butter, softened
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups flour
  • Pinch of Mace

Preparation

Step 1

Cream sugar and butter until well blended

Add one egg at a time and beat well

Heat 1 cup milk and add 2 tsp vanilla to milk

Alternate flour and milk until all mixed in

Add a pinch or two of Mace, mix well.



Place in a prepared (buttered/floured) tube pan.

Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes in a 350 degree oven.



Insert toothpick to check for doneness.



Let cool in pan on rack for 15 minutes.

Invert onto wire rack and finish cooling.

Place on serving plate/cake plate.

Can sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Can be served with ice cream, fresh berries, whipped cream, canned fruit such as Comstock, rum sauce, etc. Very versatile dessert for any season and Yummy.
