We really enjoyed the chicken fajitas I made for supper using your wonderful Fajita Seasoning Mix. It's so quick to mix and tastes a million times better than commercial seasonings! Believe I've bought my last packaged! Thanks a bunch for posting.
This recipe is out friggin' standing! I was using Taco Bell brand packaged fajita mix prior to finding this recipe. I never thought anything could be as good as the T.B. packages. When the packages became hard to come by, I thought I'd experiment with some homemade mixes. When I saw that this recipe had over 110 positive reviews, I thought I'd give it a shot. Aaaah maaazing...It's actually BETTER than the. seasoning that I've been using for years. Made the recipe exactly as described, and used about one Tablespoon per pound of cooked chicken meat. I'll probably experiment with adding a bit more 'heat' ala cayenne and crushed red pepper, (because I have a preference for hot food) but this recipe is fantastic right out of the box.
I love to make my own mixes and this one is a winner!!! Way less expensive when you figure out the cost of making vs. buying. Great flavor!!!!
Not bad but too much salt if you ask me. I cut the salt in half, omitted the bullion, doubled the cumin, and quadrupled the garlic powder. Ended up with just as much flavor with less sodium.
Made fajitas with leftover turkey, red peppers, and onions with this - had to use the whole batch and added a little water to the mix while frying. I was a little nervous using this recipe with the turkey (I also added a little lime juice that was left over in a bottle) but we loved it! My 2 year old daughter ate 3 fajitas herself!
Loved it, Easy and Very tasty. Thank you!
This was wonderful! Perfect balance of sweet, salty and spicy. I had a couple tiny changes- I used pepper flakes instead of the cayenne because I didn't have any, and also added a tiny bit of cinnamon (combining your recipe with another I found on Recipezaar). I used it to make my very first chicken fajitas! Thanks for posting :)
Me and my dad were thinkin about what to make for dinner . we just bought some steaks to fry up with some sweet peppers and onions and we were debating on what to use to season it and I wanted something with a bold but sweet flavor not a steak season. I found this and it is a verry tasty recipie. and its not real tangy. Thank you verry much it made for a great adition to the dinner.
I saw the comments about this not tasting like Lawry's... I think I found the "trick", add lime juice and worchestershire sauce to meat. My husband is also a die hard Lawry's fan!!! I've tried other fajita recipes in the past and he disliked every one... until now. He said these were the best ever! The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is I felt the recipe did need the extra "kick" of lime and Worcestershire.
This is a delicious blend of spices. I made beef fajitas the other day and used your seasoning. Perfect. I'm going to make a big batch and split it between myself and DIL. THank you so much for sharing with us.
Wow! This was better then any mix I have ever purchased. Definitely a keeper!
My family loves this seasoning! They won't let me use any other. I make a big batch up so I always have it available for a quick dinner
Like the other reviews, this is a fabulous mix. I omitted the salt and it still tastes great.
Made this last night. Doesn't even compare to the store bought package. This was perfect!
Holy Cow I tried this for a quick solution to some steak I had in the fridge. Sliced thin, sauteed in some olive oil, added this spice with a touch of water and presto! A great meal. Better than any fajita meal I've ever had...restaurants included! Oh, and I had no onion salt so I added a touch of seasoned salt instead. Perfect on every level.
I was so pleasantly pleased at how yummy this seasoning turned out. Super easy to put together with items already in the pantry! I had sliced up bell peppers, onions and turkey with olive oil, fresh lime juice and the seasoning and let it sit before saueting. My husband said it was a keeper - and that is saying a lot!
Really easy recipe with great flavor. My 4 year old even asked for more chicken! Thanks for sharing the recipe.
This recipe is great! The combination of flavors is very tasty without being too spicy. Just the flavor I think of when I think fajita.
Great combination of flavors. I don't like overly spicy foods, and I thought this was just right - more flavor than hot. I used a mild chili powder. Goes great with Texas Fajita "Ribbons" by Twissis. Thanks for a keeper Kathy!
Wonderful...fajitas tasted GREAT!
This was so easy to make! I used to buy the seasoning in a packet..never again, I made this in about 3-4 minutes and it was very good.
So simple, such amazing results! I decided, based on the outstanding reviews, to quintuple the recipe right out of the gate. Tried it tonight for the first time and we were blown away by the savory goodness of this mix. I used white wine and freshly squeezed lime juice for my liquid. I used 1 lb. of chicken breasts cut into strips, green and red peppers and onions. We truly felt we had restaurant quality fajitas ~ major yum factor!
Just made this for dinner. Love it! Better than our favorite restaurant. How will I get out to dinner again???
This mix was awesome! I made it exactly how the recipe states but I didn%u2019t add the chicken bouillon cube because we were eating vegetarian fajitas. If turned out perfect! Thanks for this fantastic recipe. I'm never buying a prepackaged mix again.
This was really an excellent recipe! I love being able to control the amount of salt in the seasoning. This was just right - not too salty and full of flavor. We really loved it! Used to make shrimp fajitas and couldn't have been better! Thanks for sharing.
I was looking to change up my fajita recipe until I found the one on this site. Then I decided to stick to what I have been doing. Whatever happened to using as many real ingredients as possible? I typically make two batches of chicken fajitas using (about 2 lbs) of chicken, half an orange (squeezed) a half a lime (squeezed) along with 2 or 3 hot cherry peppers, cumin, ground pepper, garlic, jalapenos and a mix of 2 to 3 sweet peppers. The closest I come to a "commercial product" is a hot garlic "rooster sauce". I typically season as I go along and add the increased levels of the "hot stuff" depending on my mood. Cook in olive oil.
I have been meaning to review this recipe for a few months now%u2026 I decided to try this recipe because I had a garden full of fresh peppers and some chicken in the freezer but I had to seasoning! I'm so glad that I tried this! The first time I didn't have paprika, but and it still was great!!! I don't use onion powder but that's because I HATE onions, (it just me, I know!) but this is perfect!!! My husband said I made the best fajitas he's ever had - hands down. He loves Mexican, Southwest and T ex-Mex but is very picky about when I try to make it at home because he is always disappointed, but not this time! We have made fajitas with this seasoning about 4 times in the last 2 months! I now have quadrupled the recipe and keep it in a container in the freezer to always have on hand!!! I use about 2-3 Tablespoons of the seasoning depending on how much chicken we are using. WE JUST LOVE IT! I%u2019m thinking of making up a huge batch and giving out jars for Christmas presents because we love it so much! Thanks for sharing!!!
I have never made fajitas before and did not want to use one of those little pkgs you buy at the grocery store. This is so easy to make and we loved it. Thanks for the recipe.
Absolutely perfect. I have used it a few times now, and every time it seems to get better. Thanks for posting.
Excellent fajita mix... much better than store-bought.
This is great on stir fried vegetables, as well as fajitas.
Very good! I've tried so many online recipes for different foods and most of them not worth writing a review, but this one a definite thumbs up! I didn't have cornstarch so left that item out, but it didn't change a thing (at least I don't think it did). Very good for a last minute meal. This one is a keeper.
Not bad. Not as much flavor as I had hoped for, though. I even added Lime Juice; another reviewer suggested adding Worcestershire sauce as well as lime juice, but since I hadn't any, I just went with the lime and seasoning. Thanks for posting - I always prefer making my own seasonings to decrease our salt intake.
I forgot to get fajita seasoning at the grocery store last night and thought I'd give this a shot. The only ingredient I didn't have on hand was the bouillon, but some leftover chicken stock stirred into about 2 tbsp of this mix was perfect for the fajitas. Thanks for sharing!
Woops.....I forgot to mark the very well deserved 5 stars. Once again....Your recipe rocks Kathy!!!!
This mix is great. I used ground chipotle and ancho chiles plus a pinch of cumin in the place of regular chili powder. I didn't have a bouillon cube but I didn't miss it at all. I'll use this recipe from now on when we have fajitas. Thanks for a great money saving recipe.
Wow! This was fantastic. My fussy daughters even ate the vegetables (onions and peppers) and went back for more!!
