Ingredients

  • Broth
  • 3 large beef bones w some meat (shank)
  • 1 T whole Coriander
  • 6 Cloves
  • 1 Stick Cinnamon
  • 5 Star Anise
  • 1 T Fennel Seed
  • 1 Whole Cardamon Pod
  • 1/4 C fish sauce
  • 4 " piece of fresh Ginger root
  • 1 " yellow rock sugar
  • Soup
  • thinly sliced beef
  • thin egg noodles
  • salt
  • pepper
  • meatballs (asian or regular)
  • prawns (optional)
  • baby boch choi

Preparation

Step 1

Put all items in a large stock pot and bring to a boil, skimming foam that initially forms. Once it's boiling cleanly, then simmer for several hours 5-6. Strain off broth.

Bring broth to a boil and season with salt pepper. Once boiling, add egg noodles, baby boc choi, thinly sliced beef, meatballs and prawns as desired. Each bowl can be customized with meat/fish as desired for each person. added items only need to cook for a few minutes until done.
