Turkey with Chinese Barbecue Sauce
By Addie
“Make your own five-spice powder and save. Not only will it be less expensive, it will be fresher, too. Combine equal portions of ground cinnamon, cloves, fennel seeds, star aniseed and Szechwan peppercorns.”

Ingredients
- 1/2 teaspoon hot red pepper sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 1 teaspoon spicy mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 turkey tenderloins (about 6 ounces each)
Preparation
Step 1
Combine red pepper sauce, hoisin sauce, five-spice powder, spicy mustard, salt and garlic powder in a large resealable plastic bag.
Add turkey to bag. Turn to coat. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
Preheat grill or broiler. Grill turkey, brushing with sauce occasionally, for about 5 minutes.
Turn turkey and cook until juices run clear when meat is pierced with a knife, about 10 minutes longer.
