Ingredients
- Single 9 in. Pie crust pastry
- 1 lb bulk Italian sausage
- 1/4 c chopped onion
- 1 \4 c chopped green pepper
- 4 t chopped seeded jalapeño pepper ( or more to taste)
- 4 oz shredded sharp cheddar
- 3 eggs
- 1 c heavy whipping cream
- 1 t minced fresh parsley
- 1 t minced fresh basil
- 1/4 t pepper
- 1/8 t salt
- Dash garlic powder
- Dash cayenne pepper

Step 1
Roll out pastry to fit 9 in pie plate & transfer to plate. Trim pastry to 1/2 in. Beyond edge of late; flute edges. Line Unpricked pastry with double thickness of heavy duty foil. Fill with dried beans, uncooked rice or pie weights. Bake at 450 for 8 min. Remove foil & weights & bake 5 more min. Cool on wire rack.
In lg skillet cook sausage, onion, green pepper & jalapeño over med heat until meat no longer pink; drain. Spoon into shell & sprinkle with cheese.
In lg bowl, whisk remaining ingredients; pour over cheese. Bake at 375 for 35-40 min until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand for 10 min before cutting.
