Mary Ryan Pizza
Makes 2 Pizzas
- 5 cups Flour
- 1 tbsp of Crisco
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 1 stp Salt
- 1 package of Dry Yeast dissolved in 8 oz Glass of War, Water
- 1 12 oz Can Contadina Paste
- 1 28 oz Can Contadina Cut Up Tomatoes (Italian Style)
- 1 12 oz Package Mozzarella Cheese
Mix flour, crisco, sugar and salt. Combine water with yeast a little at a time until flour is soft and tacky. You may need to add as much as another glass of water for this to happen. If mixture gets too watery add some more flour. Let sit in a covered pan for 3 hours. Cut in half and spread on a greased pans, let stand for 1 more hour. If you want only 1 pizza you can freeze the other half. Bake at 450 for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and spread sauce and any other toppings and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Sprinkle cheese over pizza baking for an additional 5 minutes.
Cut sauce ingredients in half and cook in seperate pans for 1 hour.
