- 3 medium tomatoes, washed, cored and cut in 3-inch -- thick slices
- 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
- freshly ground pepper
- 3 tablespoons shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 1/2 teaspoons snipped chives, chopped fresh basil
- 1/4 teaspoon minced garlic

Step 1
Put broiler rack 8 inches from heat source; heat broiler. Place tomato slices in single layer on a baking sheet; season with salt and pepper. Combine mozzarella cheese, mayonaisse, chives, basil, and garlic in small bowl. Spread 1 mounded teaspoon of mixture on each tomato slice. (Use immediately or set aside at room temperature up to 2 hours) Broil until lightly browned and bubbly about 4 minutes.
