Perogies

Ingredients

  • 5 # potatoes
  • 1/2 # bacon
  • 1 big onion
  • salt,pepper
  • 1 c grated cheddar
  • garlic powder
  • Dough
  • 4 c warm water
  • 1/2 c margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp vinegar
  • salt
  • 2 Tbsp oil

Preparation

Step 1

Mash potatoes
Add rest of ingredients while potatoes are hot
Chill overnight in frig
Combine margarine,eggs,vinegat,oil in 1 cmeasure
Add warm water to above
Add 8 c flour
Mix and add 2 more c flour as needed
Knead dough until consistency of bread dough
Let dough rest overninght
Roll dough out thin and cut 2 " circles
Fill with potato mixture and pinch dough around
Put on floured cookie sheet
Freeze as is or boil
Perogies are cooked when they rise to the surface
